The following positions are open for audtions. - 5 saxophones (two alto, two tenor one baritone)
- 4 trombones
- 5 trumpets
- Rhythm section which includes 2 positions for each of the following instruments.
- Drum Set, Bass (Electric or String Bass)
- Piano
- Guitar
- And 2 vocalists: 1 female 1 male..
All applicants must be able to read music at a proficient level.Applicants are not required to be able to improvise solos and read chord changes, but it is an asset.
The course will run every Tuesday evening at LaSalle Secondary School from 7pm to 9pm.The intention towards the end of the term is to perform publicly at an event or venue to be announced later.

Audition material:
There will be 2 mandatory components and a third optional component, imporvisation.
- Each applicant must play one selection of written music of their choice (minimum 32 bars in length) in a swing style. Applicants must provide the audition panel with a copy of their selected piece.
- Each applicant will be asked to sight read a piece of music in a swing style written for their instrument.
- Perform an improvised solo of one chorus of a B flat Blues accompanied by members of the audition panel.
After all auditions are complete, applicants will be notified via email, or phone of their standing.
The total fee for the 10 week session is $200.00 payable upon acceptence into the group. |
